UPDATE: Troopers investigating Wasilla death as a homicide

WASILLA, Alaska (KTUU) - Update 11:20 a.m.

Troopers confirm they are investigating the death of John Kellog, age 47 of Wasilla, as a homicide.

The cause of Kellogg's death is undetermined at this time according to AST, which declined to provide further details citing the ongoing investigation.

Law enforcement is investigating the death of John Kellog, age 47 of Wasilla, believed to have died on Dec. 25, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers were responding to a request for a welfare check when they found Kellog’s body on his property near Greenstreet Circle just before 7 p.m. on Dec. 28.

The State Medical Examiner took possession of Kellog’s body that evening, and investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, including the manner of his death, are ongoing according to AST.

The Department of Public Safety’s General Investigative Unit is asking anyone who was in the area of Greenstreet Circle on Christmas Day, or has any information concerning Kellog or his death, to call 907-745-2131.
