ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - I don't know about you, but I can hardly tolerate sitting inside right now. The sunlight is calling me. It means I'm staying up way too late, sitting outside with friends and having dinner into the early morning hours. If there's a restaurant with a deck, I'm there.
My favorite go-to dinners include the King Salmon Burger at 49th State Brewing Company and the grilled Bristol Bay salmon BLT at South Restaurant + Coffeehouse. Both must be eaten outside.
Kenai Dip (I. Must. Step. Away. From. All. The. Cheddar cheese. Mayo. Jalapeno and Cayenne pepper.) is best shared in front of a fire pit with friends. You can buy it at Carrs Aurora Village on Northern Lights Blvd.
I've also been traveling a lot this summer and highly recommend the halibut tacos at Baja Taco. Photojournalist Leah Schwartz and I recently enjoyed this summer staple while listening to a huge rainstorm.
