ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) Which team will walk away with the ultimate football victory Sunday night? As is often the case, it depends on who you ask. The Alaska Zoo let its Presidential leader, Denali call the shots on how the Super Bowl LII will go down.
According to Denali, a gray wolf with a reported love for football, the Patriots will walk away victorious. Keep in mind this is the first year Denali has made such a big prediction, at least publicly.
Denali made his decision by choosing a paper maché football with the team’s logo. Each football was made specifically for Denali. Angelica Evans, an enrichment coordinator at the zoo said the footballs were filled with burgers, spaghetti noodles and K9 carryout treats.
Based on Denali's behavior, there could have been several predicted outcomes for the game. Had the wolf ignored both footballs, there would be a wardrobe malfunction at halftime. If he marked one with urine, the team on that football would get the first penalty.
Evans said Denali listens to the games each week and is an avid fan of the sport, but laments the wolf’s favorite team, the Cleveland Browns, won't be making an appearance in the game Sunday night.
