ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - A man was arrested in Fairbanks for allegedly driving to run people off the road and then, after they pulled over and stopped to avoid him, attacking them with a sledge hammer.

Sheldon Adams, 24, of North Pole, was arrested on Wednesday for reports dating back to earlier in the week, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

In those reports on Nov. 26, AST said it got multiple calls for "a male driving a blue SUV attempting to run people off the road, and then attack them with a sledge hammer when they stopped."

On Nov. 28, similar threats were reported at Chena Pump in Fairbanks. AST responded, contacting Adams and arresting him for assault and criminal mischief.

Adams was remanded to FCC and held without bail.
