An Alaska man was killed Wednesday afternoon after his truck went off the road and crashed, and the cargo it was hauling crushed the passenger cab.

Marc Roderick, 46, of Anchor Point was driving near Moose Pass on the Seward Highway, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

Some time before 1:40 p.m., his semi truck, which was pulling a trailer with an excavator on it, went off the road.

The truck struck a rock wall, AST wrote in an online report, and then "the excavator came forward and crushed the cab of the truck."

Roderick was pronounced deceased on scene.
