ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Special Olympics Alaska athlete Ayesha Abdul-Jillil made the most of her Special Olympics Summer World Games experience, winning two medals in the first three days of competition.

In true Abdul-Jillil fashion she “crushed it like ice,” taking home gold in the shot put, and then placing third in the 100-meter dash.

Joining Abdul-Jillil at the Summer World Games is Fairbanks' Demiko Colbert who took fifth in the 200-meter, and plans on competing in the 100-meter.

Impressive results for Special Olympics Alaska team, considering Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi will be the largest sports and humanitarian event featuring nearly 8,000 athletes.
