WHITEHORSE, Yukon Territory (KTUU) - Musher Allen Moore crossed the finish line in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory Tuesday, taking first in the Yukon Quest.
The Two Rivers musher continued his lead ahead of 2017 Yukon Quest champion Matt Hall.
In an interview with race official at the finish line, Moore explained how the last few miles of the trail proved to be challenging.
"We got up 2-3 inches of snow. It made things a little slower but we just chugged along."
Moore was the first musher to make it past the Dawson City central checkpoint.
The 60-year-old veteran musher takes his third Yukon Quest championship.
