ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Former Anchorage Assembly member Amy Demboski joins two others as the new leadership team for the state Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. She will serve as the assistant commissioner. These changes will take effect on May 16.

Demboski left the Anchorage Assembly in December of 2018 to serve as the deputy chief of staff for Gov. Mike Dunleavy's administration.

In a post on Facebook, Demboski says, "This is an amazing and exciting opportunity, which will focus my time, and leverage my experience in both the private and public sectors, on a major piece of the Governor's agenda - ensuring Alaska is open for business."

The two others taking a position with the DCCED are John Springsteen, who will serve as deputy commissioner and Shawn Williams, who joins the New Industry Development Team as assistant director.
