Anchorage Holiday Tree Lighting attracts crowd

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The annual lighting of a giant tree in the middle of Town Square Park attracted a crowd on Saturday evening.

Hundreds gathered in downtown Anchorage for a visit from Santa, who lit the tree, and lots of reindeer, elves and other holiday characters to boot.

The event, put on by the Anchorage Downtown Partnership, is a holiday tradition that's free and open to the public each year.

Next year's event will take place on November 28, 2020, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
