Anchorage man gets 25 years for 2016 sexual assault


ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - A 28-year-old man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for a 2016 sexual assault.

According to the state Department of Law, Anchorage police responded to a report on Oct. 10, 2016 of a sexual assault. When they arrived, the victim reported that Jessie Sergie had been at a party at her residence when she went to sleep. When she awoke, Sergie was having intercourse with her.

Despite telling him to stop, he ignored her, but later admitted to police that he had had unwanted intercourse with her.

The 25-year-sentence has five years suspended and five years of supervised release.
