ANCHORAGE (KTUU) -- An Anchorage man is facing federal charges for allegedly using Craigslist to lure sellers to a meeting location and rob them at gunpoint.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 21-year-old Cloyd Lacap, Jr. used the site twice to conduct the robbers.

The indictment says on Aug. 24, 2019, Lacap lured an iPhone seller to the Rustic Goat Restaurant on Turnagain Street in Anchorage and robbed them. Officials say on the same day he allegedly robbed someone of a PlayStation gaming console at Balto Seppala Park on Wisconsin Street in Anchorage.

If convicted, Lacap faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison for the robbery charge and a mandatory minimum of seven years for the firearm charge.

Lacap is currently in federal custody and is awaiting his first court appearance on the charges.
