Anchorage police searching for a man who assaulted young female

Anchorage police are asking for the public's help in locating a man they believe assaulted a female minor. Police say they received the report in the area of East 47th Court and Lake Otis Parkway around 6 p.m. Friday.

According to a statement from police, the adult male assaulted the victim before running away. The victim was able to escape and call for help. Police say she was not injured.

The suspect is described by police as a Native adult male between the ages of 25 and 35, 5'8" tall and 240 pounds. He is said to have short black hair, and short facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeve T-shirt with a yellow or red or orange logo on the front, black pants, black baseball cap and sunglasses. Police say he also had a tattoo on his upper right arm.

Anyone with information about this investigation, or surveillance video in the area, is asked to call Anchorage Police Dispatch at 311.
