ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Residents of the Kobe Ag subdivision at Mile 275 of the Parks Highway is on a Level 3 Go evacuation after a 100-150 acre wildfire was discovered this evening. The neighborhood is about 10 miles from the town of Anderson.

According to BLM's Alaska Wildland Fire Information website, a fire was discovered there at 6:47 p.m. Thursday evening. The fire was reported at 30 acres and sits about ten miles to the south of Anderson, but the Division of Forestry now says it has grown to between 100 and 150 acres.

The nearby Anderson Subdivision -- a separate entity from the town of Anderson -- is on Level 2-Set evacuation notice.

Officials say that there are eight smoke jumpers and two hotshot crews en route from Fairbanks, but that they were forced to travel by road as poor visibility has prevented air transport.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
