APD releases name of driver in Arctic at W Dowling fatal accident

The Anchorage Police Department has released the name of the driver involved in a deadly crash on Arctic Blvd at W. Dowling Rd.

APD says 36-years-old Gilbert Naomoff was killed.

Anchorage Police Department announced that a traffic accident that closed down Arctic Blvd. at W Dowling for several hours on Friday was fatal.

Troopers say that a preliminary investigation found that a silver Dodge Stratus traveling southbound on Arctic near Dowling hit a bridge near the railroad tracks, rolled multiple times, and caught fire.

The adult male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

There were no other injuries, according to APD.

Arctic Blvd. has been reopened.
