Bean's Cafe seeking donations for annual Thanksgiving meal

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Bean's Cafe, a local non-profit serving at-risk members of the community, is in need of food items for the organization's annual Thanksgiving meals.

The group will serve a hot breakfast and traditional Thanksgiving meal for lunch on Thursday, Nov. 22.

According to Bean's Cafe Executive Director Lisa Sauder, the following items are needed for the Thanksgiving meals:

Dinner Items
turkey
ham
stuffing cubes
dinner rolls
cranberry sauce (#10 size cans preferred)
canned corn (#10 size cans preferred)
canned sweet potatoes (#10 size cans preferred)
marshmallows and brown sugar
canned green beans (#10 size cans preferred)
french fried onion pieces
cream of mushroom soup
store bought pies
whipped cream (cans)
fresh fruit (oranges, apples, pears)

Breakfast Items
coffee
butter
eggs
salsa
cheese
breakfast meats

Paper Items
heavy duty, large plates
8 oz. cups (hot and cold)
plastic ware
napkins

All donations can be delivered to Bean’s Cafe, located at 1101 E. Third Ave., any day of the week. Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also drop off goods at Tastee Freez, 3901 Raspberry Road.
