Berkowitz appoints new Municipal Attorney

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz announced a replacement for outgoing Municipal Attorney Becky Windt Pearson, who is taking a position as general counsel for GCI.

Kate Vogel will take over the position that Pearson held since 2017. Vogel previously worked as the Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alaska.

Previously she served as a law clerk on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and as a law clerk to Alaska Supreme Court Justice Walter L. Carpeneti.

Vogel officially takes her position on Feb. 24. Between Feb. 3 and Feb. 24, Dee Ennis, Deputy Municipal Attorney of Anchorage will serve as acting attorney.
