ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU)- Anchorage police are investigating the death of an adult male found in the mudflats near the Carr-Gottstein Park.
In a release sent Saturday afternoon, Police state the body was spotted by a bike rider early Saturday morning, and it appears that the man has been dead for several days.
The victim has not yet been identified but is being taken to a medical examiner for an autopsy. The medical examiner will determine an official cause of death but police state it is unclear at this time whether the death will be considered suspicious.
There is no indication of a threat to public safety but police are asking people with missing loved ones who are adult males to call 311 to share any information possibly related to this death investigation.
