ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The Center for Safe Alaskans will be holding a free car seat check-up at the Cook Inlet Housing Authority in Muldoon.

Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to check up on seats and make sure parents and caregivers are installing and using them correctly.

Car seats and booster seats will also be distributed to families in need for no extra cost as long as caregivers stay and learn how to use them.

"Technicians will be there to make sure your car seat is harnessed correctly and installed quickly," said Mandi Seethaler with the Center for Safe Alaskans.

Parents will be able to get any questions answered regarding their child's car seats.

The event will be held at the Cook Inlet Housing Authority in Muldoon at 7861 Bentu Circle.
