ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - A world-renowned celebrity chef is in Alaska, and while the details of his project in Juneau so far are under wraps, it could be connected to a new global series beginning this year.
According to a report this week from The Juneau Empire, chef Gordon Ramsay arrived in the state capital on Sunday night, and has been doing filming for one of his television shows.
“We’re shooting a TV show,” Ramsay told the Juneau Empire on Monday. “We’re having an amazing time.”
As for the nature of this show, the Empire reported that a member of Ramsay's team said it was still being kept a secret.
Justin Mandel, the head of digital and short form content for Studio Ramsay, said they weren’t allowed to reveal anymore details about the show they were filming until the end of the week when they leave.
Last year, however, Ramsay announced his brand would be expanding into food tourism territory with a new series titled 'Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted,' partnered with National Geographic.
That series would fit right in with an Alaska visit, as 'Uncharted' was described as a combination of the chef's passion for food and exploration to unearth incredible food and people around the world.
'Uncharted' is also being produced by Studio Ramsay, and is set to premiere in 2019.
KTUU has reached out to the production company, to discover if the famous chef will be visiting Anchorage before leaving the state.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
