CHUGIAK, Alaska (KTUU) - A student at Chugiak High School was arrested Thursday night, after authorities say he made threats on social media against the school.

The name of the student was withheld due to his status as a minor.

The exact nature of the threat was not released, however the Anchorage Police Department said it was "a threat against the school, its students, and its staff" and that it was made on Snapchat.

Officers with the Patrol Division located the student at his residence, APD said in a statement. There, he was interviewed and arrested.

Charges were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
