ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Diverse voices from across Alaska celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy, on Sunday afternoon.
Hundreds filled the West High School auditorium for the community-wide MLK commemoration, hosted by the Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation of Alaska.
Speakers remembered the past of Dr. King's legacy, and urged Alaskans to keep Dr. King's dream of equality alive.
"At one point in time in life, it was not like this," said Celeste Hodge Growden, MLK Event Coordinator. "Just to see everyone come together, under one umbrella to celebrate not only Dr. King but to celebrate our community as oneness – it's beautiful."
