Anchorage (KTUU) In Ross Nixon's book "Finding Carla", he recounts the story of sixteen year old Carla Corbus. She and her parents were flying from Portland to San Francisco in March 1967 when their Cessna 195 crashed in the mountains. Carla and her parents survived the crash. Her father attempted to walk for help and died. Carla and her mother lived for two and half months before dying. This crash and Carla's "death diaries" changed the future of aviation in the country.
