Data is sourced from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Diabetes Alaska State Burden Toolkit.

Diabetes data for Percentage of Adults with Diabetes was collected using telephone interviews, based on the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System health survey.

Diagnosed diabetes data for Prevalence in Alaskans was self-reported to the CDC.

Death Rate, per 100,000, involves diabetes as the underlying cause of death in Alaskans, who were 15 years-old or older.

Data for Direct Costs include all diabetes-attributed medical costs. While data for include "absenteeism, presenteeism, household productivity losses, inability to work and premature mortality," according to the CDC.
