Bean's Cafe Deputy Director Kim Kovol says she was able to track down the vehicle and its owner. They are working towards a resolution on what Kovol says could be at least $10,000 worth of damage to the building.

Original story

A vehicle lost control and collided into the Bean’s Café administrative building on 4th Avenue across from the shelter around 8:45 a.m. Saturday. This information is confirmed by security camera footage posted to the Bean’s Cafe Facebook page.

Security footage shows the driver getting out of a red pickup truck to survey the damage. He then makes a phone call. A tow truck later appears to remove the vehicle.

According to Bean’s Cafe the driver and tow truck left the scene without attempting to make contact with the café. They are asking for help identifying both the driver and the towing company, shown in a series of videos on the Bean’s Café Facebook page.

Bean’s has filed a police report and Channel 2 has reached out to Anchorage Police about the investigation.

This is a developing story.
