According to Murkowski’s social media, the two met at the Capitol for a GCI TERRA project promotional event.

"I get to meet a wide variety of interesting people, but really how often do you get to meet a ninja?" Murkowski wrote on her Facebook page.

The senator praised Alaska's American Ninja Warrior competitor for being a role model for young Alaskans.

"More than anything I'm proud to see Nick using his success as a platform to educate others on unique history and traditions of our state," she wrote. "I'll be cheering him on in his upcoming competitions."

But before parting ways, Murkowski received a lesson on how to seal hop – a variation of the Inuit knuckle hop

According to Murkowski, "It’s tougher than it looks!"
