Love may be known as the international language but many will tell you few things bring people together like food.

That's what two visiting artists are using as their medium for a project at the Anchorage museum called "Everyone is welcome here."

"Anchorage is one of the most diverse cities in the United States and for us it was a surprise because we didn't know that. We thought somewhere in California or the east coast but it's not, it's here in Anchorage." Sergio De La Torre, professor and artist said.

De La Torre says he and his partner, Chris Treggiari are using dishes created with ingredients from around the globe that certain cultures will identify with, like a Korean salad or Russian crepes.

The installation explores how people experience a place based on its food. Something the artists hope will start conversations about immigration and cultural diversity.
