Fatal two-vehicle crash in Kenai takes multiple lives

KENAI, Alaska (KTUU) - Two people are dead following a two-vehicle crash in Kenai Saturday afternoon.

Alaska State Troopers responded to the collision around 3 p.m. Saturday on Kalifornsky Beach Road, near the Diamond M Ranch Road in Kenai.

According to reports, Theodore Knutson, 34, of Kenai, was driving a Chevy HHR southbound when he crossed into oncoming traffic. Knutson struck a GMC Yukon, driven by Albert Brunner, 63, head-on.

Brunner, of Soldotna, and Knutson were both killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Further investigation, which is continuing, showed seat belts were worn by all passengers.
