Passenger Rahnia Boyer told KTUU Weather that she "saw a bright flash and a pop noise" as the plane was descending. She says no one panicked and once the plane landed, the pilot did make a short announcement about the incident.
"No one freaked out, everybody stayed pretty calm," Boyer said.
The lightning map from the Alaska Interagency Coordination Center showed a lone lightning strike in the Bethel area on the evening of May 13, 2019.
