ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - A missing soldier based out of Fort Wainwright was found dead Saturday afternoon inside his car in a campground south of Fairbanks.

22-year-old Mason Heimer had been missing for nearly a week sparking calls for answers and a large cash reward from his father, Doug Heimer.

Alaska State Troopers say that Mason Heimer's body was found after a report came in for an apparent abandoned vehicle at Harding Lake campground.

Troopers say that no foul play is suspected and his body will now be transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office.
