JUNEAU, Alaska (KTUU) - Earlier this week, House democrats in in Bethel submitted three possible replacements for a vacant House seat to Gov. Bill Walker: Yvonne Jackson, Raymond “Thor” Williams and Tiffany Zulkosky. Of those three, Walker has picked Zulkosky.

“Tiffany is the best person for this job. I’m proud and humbled to forward someone with such a compelling background and strong voice to House Democrats for consideration,” Governor Walker said Thursday in a prepared statement.

From here, House democrats will have the chance to confirm Zulkosky, something which Walker expects. “If and when she is confirmed, the district will be represented well,” the governor wrote.

Zulkosky, 34, is the vice president of communications for the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation, and previously was the mayor of Bethel. She was nominated for Walker's consideration on Feb. 19.
