UPDATE: APD identifies Anchorage man killed in Taku Drive shooting

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) — Update: Wednesday, 4:12 p.m.:
Anchorage police have identified the victim of Monday night's fatal shooting as 23-year-old Navarrow Andrews.

His family has been notified.

Investigators want to speak with witnesses and nearby residents who may have heard or seen anything suspicious around the time of the shooting, about 10:40 p.m. Monday night.

Anyone with information is asked to call APD at 911 or Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP to remain anonymous.

A man was killed Monday night in a reported shooting on Taku Drive. Police are now investigating the incident as a homicide.

The call of shots fired came in at 10:40 p.m. on the 5400 block of Taku Drive, according to a community alert issued by APD.

A man was found shot in the upper body, lying near the road, and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man's name and age were not immediately released. APD says homicide detectives are looking for potential witnesses, and asked for anyone with information about this investigation, including surveillance video, to contact them.
