Icy road conditions are likely to persist into Tuesday morning's commute after a slick day in the outlying areas of Anchorage Monday that caused Anchorage, and many Mat-Su, schools to be closed Monday.

Anchorage Police closed Rabbit Creek Road Monday morning after a number of crashes and sliding vehicles.

In Chugiak, the Old Glenn Highway was like a skating rink for Monday morning's commute.

At 6:00, temperatures on the Glenn Highway hovered just above freezing, with freezing rain falling, but the overnight temperature is expected to drop, so drivers could have another slick morning at hand.

By 6 p.m., Anchorage Police had been called to two crashes with injuries and 17 without, along with another 20 vehicles in distress.
