Icy roads a major factor in North Pole fatal crash, Troopers say

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - A North Pole woman is dead after a crash in North Pole late Saturday night, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Crystal C. Kmiec, 34, of North Pole was driving a 2008 Ford F250 when she lost control and went off the highway at the intersection of Badger Road and Peede Road. The truck overturned into a slough and became submerged.

Troopers say icy roads and speed were major factors in the crash.

Next of kin have been notified.
