Kotzebue Fire Department's dog found beaten to death

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Police in Kotzebue are searching for the person who killed a dog that belonged to the Kotzebue Fire Department. The dog, named Ash, was found beat to death outside of the Fire Department on July 16th.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to raise funds for a reward, the Kotzebue Fire Department took in Ash as a puppy two years ago after finding her in the middle of winter.

The page says firefighters and EMT's adopted her to get her out of the arctic cold, and to keep her from being euthanized as a stray.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kotzebue Police Department at (907) 442-3351.
