ANCHORAGE, Ak (KTUU) Over the last several decades, the population of the Matanuska-Susitna borough has grown dramatically. About 30 years ago, fewer than one in 22 Alaskans lived in the Mat-Su Borough. As of 2017, that number has dramatically grown, with about one in seven now residing in the valley.
