ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - An argument over alcohol is the reason Alaska State Troopers say a man shot and killed his brother on Sept. 13 in Akiachak.
AST says troopers in Bethel got a call of a murder/suicide in the village.
During the investigation, troopers found out 32-year-old Robert Snyder and his brother 36-year-old Tom Snyder got into a fight. Troopers say Robert retrieved a 12 gauge shotgun and shot Tom in the face, killing him.
They say Robert then turned the gun on himself, firing one shot into his head, but survived the shotgun blast and was medevacked to Bethel then to Anchorage and subsequently to Seattle.
AST says he is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
AST says the case is still under investigation.
