Mat Su Borough election: super close assembly race

ANCHORAGE, Alaska Unofficial results from Tuesday's regular election in the Mat Su Borough show a tight race for Assembly District 1. Numbers released by the clerk of court's office show only a seven-vote gap between front-runner Brian Endle and Tim Hale, who is currently in second place.

In Mat Su School Board District 2, a margin of only 26 votes separates James Hart in first place and Ray Michaelson, who is in second place.

Here are the results in the two assembly and three school board positions on the ballot. Borough officials say they still need to count 164 questioned ballots. In addition, 686 absentee ballots were issued, and those postmarked by election day and received by Nov. 8th will be counted.
