ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) — McCarthy Road reopened Thursday after flooding caused by high rains damaged the roadway.

The Department of Transportation issued a warning on Facebook Wednesday, cautioning drivers against taking the Edgerton Highway and McCarthy Road due to surface water hazards between milepost 33 and milepost 59.

DOT says driving conditions are difficult on the road, and crews are continuing repair work.
