Anchorage (KTUU) - After 44 years in the breakfast business, the Denny's at the corner of Denali St. and East Benson Blvd. is set to close this week.
David Fickes, President of D's of Alaska Inc., told KTUU that the decision to close comes after the consideration of multiple factors.
According to Fickes, the crime and growing homeless population have made it difficult to do business in the area. However, he said that failing to come to a long term lease agreement with the building's property manager was also a part of his decision to close the doors.
Every employee at the Midtown location will be offered a position at the Denny's located off of Debarr Rd.
Other restaurant closings in midtown include Doriola's, which closed it's doors back in late September, and Aladdin's Fine Mediterranean which will be shutting its doors in December.
