Napaskiak man drowns in Bethel

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The Bethel Police Department says that a 35-year-old man was found in the Kuskokwim River near 1st Avenue on the evening of July 10. Police responded at 5:49 p.m. to a report of a man who may have fallen into the river. His body was recovered and identified as Fritz Johnson from Napaskiak.

Bethel Police and Bethel Search and Rescue responded to the scene, and notified next of kin. His remains were transported to Anchorage to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage to determine cause of death.
