FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) — The North Pole Patriot Football Team will be opening conference play Friday night without their head coach.

According to North Pole's Athletic Director and the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, Dennis Diviney has been placed on administrative leave.

According to a release from the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, Diviney was placed on leave Thursday while the District investigates allegations made against the coach. The nature of these allegations is unknown, as the district is withholding details of the investigation, citing personnel confidentiality.

Superintendent Karen Gaborik said in the release that they "take all complaints regarding staff seriously, and investigate each allegation."

According to an assistant coach with the Patriots, they have been told that Diviney is on leave until further notice.

Two of the assistants will step in as co-head coaches in his absence.

This is a developing story and we will have more details as they become available.
