Ostrander dominates in steeplechase semifinals

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - It’s starting to become a theme this time of year: Allie Ostrander dominating the competition at the NCAA Track and Field Championships.

Thursday the Kenai Central High School graduate posted the fastest Women’s 3,000 m Steeplechase semifinal time, qualifying for the NCAA final on Saturday.

Boise State’s Ostrander crossed the finish line with a time of 9:45.96.

The red shirt sophomore will now compete in both the Steeplechase and 5,000 m finals. She will also attempt to become the second woman ever to win back-to-back steeplechase titles in NCAA Div. I history.

You can watch Ostrander on ESPN, her Steeplechase final is scheduled for 2:54 p.m. Alaska time Saturday, and the 5,000 m final is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. Alaska Time.
