People Mover to implement route and schedule changes Monday

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Starting Monday People Mover buses will be on a new course and a new schedule.

The Municipality of Anchorage's (MOA) Public Transportation Department (PTD) announced they would be changing routes, times, even adding a stops for the Government Hill, Mountain View, and Centennial Village areas.

According to the PTD, the changes were made based on rider feedback collected in April and May of 2018. The hope, according to PTD, is that these feedback-based changes can cut down on confusion, time performance by adding additional destinations and travel opportunities.

It was also announced by PTD that AnchorRIDES would be handing off service operation to Chugiak Senior Center. PTD wrote that the transfer will improve rider experience and remove duplication service to the same area. CSC services ride between Highland Road and north to Eklutna.
