Police ID woman killed in Mountain View shooting

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Update: Monday, Nov. 5, 2018: Anchorage police have named the woman killed as Jenna DelKittie. DelKittie was 23 years old.

An Oct. 28 shooting in Mountain View has now been deemed a homicide after one of the victims died from her injuries, according to the Anchorage Police Dept.

A release from the department said that one of the victims of the shooting passed away at a local hospital Saturday morning.

"This incident is now being investigated as a homicide," police wrote. The victim's identity will be released once next-of-kin have been notified.

Around 2:40 in the morning on the 28th, police were called to the 4200 block of Mountain View Dr. for reports of a shooting. There they found two women with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, "one with life threatening injuries and the other with non-life threatening injuries," according to police.

Both women were taken to a local hospital.

Police said at the time that the women were outside a residence when an "unidentified suspect fired multiple rounds in their direction from a dark-colored sedan," with the suspect fleeing shortly thereafter.

Officers also said it appeared the incident was isolated and that there is no threat to the public.
