ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Anchorage police say they are investigating a shooting in East Anchorage and are looking for witnesses who may know anything about the incident.

Around 6:00 p.m. Friday, police were called to an apartment complex on the 100-block of Rusty Allen Place, just across the Glenn Highway from Tikahtnu Commons.

Police said in a Nixle that,"Initial indications are that shots were fired, most likely from a vehicle, that was being driven on either Boundary Avenue or the Glenn Highway."

More than one bullet went into an apartment living room, striking one of the people inside. Another bullet also went through a wall and into a second apartment located next door, though no injuries were reported from that residence.

The woman inside the first apartment who was hit by a bullet was taken to a local hospital with "non-life threatening injuries." Others in the home were not hurt, according to police.

Police said Friday night that they are still trying to figure out a motive for the shooting, and that anyone who was driving through the area at the time and witnessed the incident should call police dispatch at 311 or CrimeStoppers.
