ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - U.S. Army Alaska says military training will create loud noises around the Anchorage Bowl beginning in December.
Dec. 2-10 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. artillery fire will be heard in the Chugiak and Eagle River area, as well as Knik-Goose Bay and into portions of Wasilla.
On top of the large firepower going off, U.S. Army Alaska says the firing of .50 caliber machine guns on Grezelka Range may periodically close Arctic Valley Road.
If Arctic Valley Road is closed, road guards posted at barriers will allow traffic flow throughout the day, with delays no longer than 30 minutes at a time.
