ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - During Friday's University of Alaska Board of Regents meeting, the discussion turned towards the commitment to the future of college athletics in Alaska.
University of Alaska Fairbanks Athletic Director and Vice Chancellor Keith Champagne said no actual vote was taken, but they wanted to share the commitment to both UAA and UAF athletic programs through 2020-2021 based on a previous conversation between UA President Johnsen and Chancellors Kathy Sandeen and Daniel White.
Champagne went on to say a vote will probably take place at a future date after some "due diligence" on the part of the regents regarding athletics.
