KODIAK, Alaska (AP) - A test rocket manufactured by California-based Astra Space Inc. has been scheduled to launch from Kodiak next month.
The Kodiak Daily Mirror reports the launch at the Pacific Spaceport Complex was planned for earlier this month, but it was canceled minutes before liftoff.
Officials of the complex say the cause for scrubbing the April 6 launch was unclear but it was not related to the spaceport facilities.
Alaska Aerospace Corp. officials say the new launch is scheduled for May 10 or May 11.
Astra had not yet filed a license with the Federal Aviation Administration for the upcoming launch.
The documents filed for the previous planned launch indicated Astra was authorized to send up a suborbital vehicle to carry "an inert upper stage on a suborbital trajectory without a payload."
