School's out at 3:30 p.m. What can kids do afterwards?

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - After school programs are available to parents across the state, many for little or no cost.

Whether it’s athletic activities or educational ones, here’s a list of just some of the options:

  • Boys & Girls Club of Alaska
    Boys & Girls Club has 25 clubhouses across the state. They have a free after school program available for children seven years old to 18 years old.
  • Camp Fire Alaska
    Camp Fire Alaska is a before and after school program available at 28 schools in Anchorage and Eagle River. The non-profit has rates posted on their website and scholarships are available for students.
  • YMCA Childcare
    The YMCA of Alaska offers before and after school programs at several elementary schools for Y members.
  • Thread Alaska
    Thread Alaska provides a child care resource referral network and help finding child care.
  • Alaska Afterschool Network
    Resources are available on the Alaska Afterschool Network for parents to find the right program for their kids.
