KENAI, Alaska - A new state economic report predicts Alaska will see small and slow job growth in 2020.
The Peninsula Clarion reported analysis by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development indicates a growth rate of 0.3% or about 1,100 new jobs.
The department's January research report says Alaska added about 1,600 jobs in 2019, while the state lost more than 11,000 jobs in the previous three years.
The oil industry is expected to continue growing with the addition of about 400 jobs, Many new jobs are expected in the military and the tourism sectors.
